Accessing ITSR information
On 20 January 2013, ITSR began delivering rail safety regulatory services as the NSW Branch of the Adelaide-based Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR), under a service level agreement.
While ITSR remains a statutory authority of the NSW Government, any information requests relating to rail safety regulation under the Rail Safety (Adoption of National Law) Act 2012 are exempt from the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) and will be assessed by the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator under the South Australian Freedom of Information Act 1991.
Any information related to matters not covered by the Rail Safety (Adoption of National Law) Act 2012 will be assessed by ITSR under the GIPA Act.
ITSR’s Agency Information Guide provides an overview on the provision of information held by ITSR and either owned by ITSR or the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator.
