Publications

ITSRR has a statutory responsibility to publish information that it deems necessary for the safe operation of the NSW transport system.

Fact Sheets

ITSRR publishes a range of fact sheets covering legislative requirements and topical issues. Most fact sheets relate to the rail industry but there is also material on the safety regulation of buses and ferries and ITSRR’s role in reporting on the reliability of all three transport modes.

Reports

ITSRR publishes annual rail safety, transport reliability and corporate reports; an annual survey of CityRail customers, quarterly reports on the implementation of the NSW Government response to the Special Commission of Inquiry into the Waterfall Rail Accident, and ad hoc publications on reliability and safety issues.

Rail Industry Safety Notices (RISNs)

Rail Industry Safety Notices (RISNs) are issued as needed to inform accredited rail transport operators and the broader rail industry of current and emerging safety issues.

Information Alerts

Information Alerts provide the rail industry with information about ITSRR events, policy changes and other regulatory developments.

The Regulator

The Regulator is a quarterly newsletter featuring news and features on recent and upcoming ITSRR events and issues with a focus on rail safety regulation.

Transport Advisory Weekly (TAW)

Targeted at the rail industry, Transport Advisory Weekly (TAW) is an online news portal of recent domestic and international developments in the transport industry.

Presentations and Papers

ITSRR publishes presentations and papers that its staff have presented at events or had published in journals.

Forms

A series of numerically referenced forms for accredited rail transport operators various compliance, accreditation and notification purposes. The forms can be downloaded or submitted to ITSRR online.

Human Factors

ITSRR is developing a suite of tools to help the rail industry better manage risk and improve overall safety management by identifying human factors that lead to occurrences.
