In October 2009 ITSRR's Chief Executive, Len Neist, presented at the Permanent Way Institution Convention. The theme for the convention was 'The Total Railway'. Len's presentation and paper (see links below) focused on regulating rail safety in NSW - the Rail Safety Act 2008 and its requirements.

In February and March 2009 ITSRR held industry briefings on the key requirements of the Rail Safety Act 2008. The briefings included a presentation on the Act and Regulations which is available below.

In September 2009 ITSRR's Principal Research Officer, Theresa Mejia, presented a paper to the Australasian Transport Research Forum in New Zealand on Best Practice in Procurement of Commuter Rail Services. Theresa's paper is available below.
